If SoFi has a roof, why is there a rain delay for tonight's game?

I know SoFi isn't really an indoor stadium, but if everybody is bone dry... why is it not safe to play? What am I missing?
They explained that there is open exposure at the top of the stadium; but, they also said that lightning doesn't go sidewayss. So, I guess it's all because there is lightning in the area and it's not considered a domed stadium.
They made an announcement at the stadium that kick-off now will be at 8:55 pm EST (30 minutes late).
