First down needs to be a run play and maybe even second down....Unless 1st down is a 2+ yard loss. Goff's first pass needs to be a roll out to a TE....something no more than 10 yards past the LOS. I do not replay games or know Xs and Os a tenth that many of you do but from what I have seen in the McVay years is that Goff is MUCH MUCH MUCH better when he can get in a groove QUICKLY. Should it be that way for a $$$$$$$ paid QB? Probably not. But it is what it is....or has been. If McVay starts off with 4-6 step drop backs and have Goff looking 15 + down field, it MIGHT work but vs a tough Niners D, it is not worth the risk of setting Goff in a negative tone for the rest of the game.
Don't know about you guys but I had a BAAAAAAD feeling after just the very first 3 plays of the Dallas game.
