Why Rams WON'T/SHOULDN'T draft for need

April 20, 2019 07:13AM
since moving to LA with McVay, this is now a destination team. Free agents at the end of their careers will and have been taking less to finish their careers in LA. (See Weddle & Matthews). Snead also can make moves to fill need areas (see Talib, Peters, Fowler, Cook). The Rams can sit back, take a potential stud that drops and fill in the holes when necessary with creativity while also coaching up raw players like they have done w/ Littleton, Ebukam, etc.... If we were to draft by need, I would probably take a CB early to replace Talib & Peters in the future. Maybe grab a Guard to replace Saffold or a OT to replace Whitworth. All of these are certainly possible. But Snead and McCoy have been creative in filling holes, so let's go grab us players that will become future All Pros verses reaching for players for "potential need areas." This has become a one year at a time team. We have the nucleus in place, draft players that can also become cornerstone Rams.
