Rams return all five starting offensive linemen from last year, but their LT, Andrew Whitworth, is 36, and their RT, Rob Havenstein, can be a free agent next offseason. They need to build the next wave. Joe Noteboom is now a big part of that.

Noteboom is a 6-foot-5, 306-pound left tackle from Plano, Tex. Participated in the Senior Bowl and the Combine.
On a call with reporters, Joseph Noteboom says he had a top-30 visit with the Rams and a formal visit at the combine. Noteboom says he looks forward to learning from a Pro Bowler.

With their first pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, the Rams opted to beef up their O-line.
With the 89th pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, the Los Angeles Rams were finally on the clock.
After skipping out on Round 1 due to the trade with the New England Patriots for WR Brandin Cooks, the Rams waited long and hard on Day 2 missing out on Round 2 due to the trade for former Kansas City Chiefs CB Marcus Peters. Despite the opportunities to trade up, the Rams stood pat until pick #89 selecting:
TCU Horned Frogs OT Joseph Noteboom
It shouldn’t be considered a shocker by any means. The pick helps the Rams improve an aging offensive line with contract timing issues while adding to immediate OT depth. Despite the other options among the linebackers, Noteboom should be able to come in and compete for the future spots available on the line, and a year under the current coaching staff will only give him a leg up.
And with that, the Rams’ 2018 draft class is officially underway! No more picks for tonight, but we’ll be back tomorrow with a ton of capital to spend to help build out the depth on the roster.
