I kinda think he's going to stay PENDING what the Rams are able to do in FA and the draft.
Barron has some real value in that while he can't shed OL blocks very well, he is a terrific and physical and sure handed tackler, good run blitzer AND he is a better than average cover guy especially from the ILB position. He can even play SS if needed and offers a lot of versatility in the back 8.
I guess what I'm saying is that he's not completely safe but not on the chopping block either. And right now because he's had recent surgery on a shoulder his trade value is probably pretty small to nil. Yet to cut him and receive nothing would be a shame. So to keep him for the time being and see how FA and the draft play out is probably the prudent move. If push comes to shove and to complete some business the Rams feel very strongly about they need to let him go to get the cap space, it will only happen then.....if at all.
