The Rams are an offensive team. The Rams are Todd Gurley, Sean McVay and Jared Goff. The Rams need to light up the scoreboard. This is our identity.
I am worried. The Rams o Line was great last year, and that was the most important factor in the team's turnaround and success last year. They protected Goff. They opened holes for Gurley. The line is returning, but is older, and the continued health of Whitworth, Saffold and Sullivan is a concern.
Sammy Watkins was an important piece to the offense. He underwhelmed for sure. Goff definitely could have used Sammy more, but Sammy still stretched the field, drew the opponents best corners, and blocked like a beast. I just do not know how his departure will affect Woods and Kupps play. It is an unknown.
My point is, this offseason cannot just be about the D. Keeping Joyner was important. Acquiring Peters was a steal. Trading Quinn was a smart financial move and won't be difficult to replace. It seems we have a lot of holes, but many of them are on offense. I now see O Line and WR as huge areas of concern. I hope the draft is not all about Defense, as I am nervous starting the season with the same line as last year and Woods and Kupp as our #1 and #2 wrs. We are going to miss that #2 pick we traded away to get Watkins. Expect Snead to trade down out of #23 to pick up an additional 2nd or 3rd.
Go Rams.
