That's take away #1 from the Pats / Jags game yesterday. Any coaching staff that thinks you're going to go to Foxboro, score 20 points and 'hang on' is delusional. The Patriots are going to score 24-28 points a game at home. They just are. Jags were sunk when they hit 20 points and thought that was good enough.
I think the Vikings were exposed once they were trailing by a couple of scores. They ran their record up all year with defense but also getting up on people early - that offense and Case are not designed to play catch up. The Saints, who really should have won that game last week, probably would have fared better late in the game in Philly.
Atlanta in the Super Bowl. Lead or not, you have to keep scoring to beat teams like the Patriots. Expecting your defense to hold late leads in a league with some really good QB's and rules slanted in favor of the offense is outdated thinking.
