Goff needs more reps

It seems unbalanced to me that Sean Mannion, though he did not play with the ones, received the bulk of the work at QB on Saturday. Sean Mannion is no who allegedly McVay is trying to get ready to be the starter. Is there a fear by McVay and the Rams coaches of Goff being injured? Is that why they are treading so carefully with him?
