and I don't want to argue about the word 'hero'. 
Mine was Jack Pardee. and when he was traded to the Skins, (even though I had other heroes by then), I was IRATE.
It's rather strange, actually... when I came to know Pardee Billy Wade was the QB... though I barely remember him. As a very young kid you would have thought the QB would have been my favorite, no?
By 1960 Dick Bass was my guy.. and stayed 'my guy' until the Fearsome Foursome came into being. And even then he was tied with 'my guys'. - JamesJM
