Rams were picked to finish 3rd. Not too different then this coming season where I'm sure many have them behind the Seahawks and Cardinals.
The 73 Rams had a young enthusiastic head coach who had no experience as a head coach named Chuck Knox. Knox was not an offense guy he was defense but in many ways very similar to McVay.
Tommy Prothro a long time Southland favorite as the head coach of UCLA had a disappointing 1972 season as the head coach of the Rams and was fired.
Not to different then a long time USC / Southland favorite son named Jeff Fisher who it would be kind to say his 2016 season was disappointing. To say the least right?
Prothro before he left built a good roster and Knox benefitted from it. I don't know if the same can be said for Fisher and the roster he has built but we shall see.
The 73 Rams were start of a 7 strait division title run for the Rams. An NFL record by the way.
Lets hope history is repeating itself.
