Former Titans coach Jeff Fisher moving back to Nashville — 'This is home'

Of all he places he's lived, Jeff Fisher said he considers Nashville home.

Jeff Fisher is going home.

Not back to California where he grew up and played college football.

Not back to Chicago where he played in the NFL or Houston where he first became a head coach.

Fisher, 59, is moving back to Nashville, the place he truly considers his home.

"We spent so many years here; we just love the people and we have so many great friends here," said Fisher, who currently is in town. "Everywhere you go people are just like, 'Hey, welcome back.' It's just really cool."

While having a tire repaired earlier this week Fisher was recognized by all the employees at the shop. They were thrilled to see him and stopped working long enough to get together for a group photo.

"That kind of thing means a lot. The people are so friendly. It's a great, great town," Fisher said. "I went to a Predators playoff game the other night and had a blast. It's a fun, fun place to live."

Fisher came to Nashville as coach of the Titans, then the Oilers, in 1997 and quickly fell in love with the area.

Being an avid outdoorsman who hunts and fishes, he bought a farm with two creeks and a large pond in Kingston Springs and never sold it. That's where he will live when he moves back from L.A.

There are still a some loose ends to tie up before Fisher settles back into the Music City.

"I haven't sold my home in St. Louis yet and I'm half unpacked in L.A.," he said.
