He said he didn't want to use the last time out there because the next down was 4th down. They had to burn a TO to avoid a play clock penalty 2 plays prior.

I assume he was hoping to get closer for and wanted time for ST to get set up but after the sack he should have stopped the clock. Sack happened with 32 seconds and the Bears sure took their time lining up. Williams didn't get the snap until the clock wound down to 6 seconds then took 4 seconds to throw it.

They could have had time for one more pass play to get closer. Even a desperation 59 yard FG to tie is a better move than letting the clock wind out.

Bad discipline and clock management.
