When this game was played, I was living in a converted tool shed, and at that time didn't have the rabbit-ears antenna and 15-inch screen used TV that I later acquired. My health was shot, I had no money, and had just been blindsided by a horrific divorce. I heard great things about Kurt Warner and the Rams, though, and mid-season I heard him speak at a Billy Graham rally over the radio - and his first statement brought an outburst of tears.
He inspired me, and gave me hope. A few years later I watched him play - and again when I needed it he inspired me and gave me hope.
Watching this game, now,
for the first time, so many memories are rekindled, along with a renewed appreciation for Warner the QB. Not bad, for a rookie thrown into his first start against an all-time tough defense.
Thanks for bringing it to me, Rampage. Sometimes what we do touches others more deeply than we realize at the time. You've done it here, for this old Rams and Warner fan. I'm deeply grateful.
Thanks again.
