First games are notoriously unpredictable.

It has been 8 months or more since teams have played real football. Lots changed on every team from players to coaches to systems. So, that first game of the season is a predictor of nothing and the game itself is not predictable.

It certainly counts for something, but as any kind of indicator (barring serious injuries to key players) for how the season might go, it is not.
