Rams News: LA Bolsters Wide Receiver Depth with Division III Champion: JJ Laa or Laap

In a strategic move, the Los Angeles Rams are set to bolster their receiving corps with the addition of J.J. Laa, the former SUNY Cortland standout who has recently secured a training camp deal as an undrafted free agent.
Laa, hailing from Stony Brook, New York, brings a championship pedigree to the Rams, having been instrumental in securing a Division III national title for the Red Dragons.
At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Laa's physicality is complemented by his impressive statistics. In the past season, he emerged as a preferred target for quarterback Zac Boyes, starting in all 11 games and tallying 41 receptions for 907 yards, leading his team and scoring six touchdowns. His average of 22.1 yards per reception is indicative of his big-play ability, a trait that could translate well to the professional level.
Despite the impressive collegiate resume, Laa faces a daunting challenge ahead. The Rams' receiving lineup is stacked with talent, featuring luminaries such as Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp, All-Pro Puka Nacua, and former Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champion Demarcus Robinson.
Laa's immediate goal will likely be to outshine third-stringers like Xavier Smith or Tyler Johnson, carving out a role as either a deep-bench asset or a practice squad contributor.
