Biggest head scratcher: Penix to Atlanta: I disagree

What the.....????
Atlanta spends a ton of money to sign Cousins and then spends a premium pick of an often injured QB?
But, even more, what possible use will Atlanta have for Penix for at least 2, and probably 3 years, other than as a back up? And think about the amount of salary cap those 2 will eat up.

Does Atlanta seriously think they have everything necessary to make a Superbowl run and really don't need help with a starting position?

This is what some fans were thinking the Rams ought to do, and it made no sense to me for the Rams, either, since clearly there were gaping holes at Edge and DT.

QB Michael Penix has talent and has proven he can ball over the last 2 seasons putting his injury history in the rear view mirror.

Kirk Cousins is up there in years and coming off of a torn "Achilles".

I'm not guaranteeing Penix is going to be a star in the NFL but I like his toughness and accuracy.

Imo, this was far from a WTF pick if you look at it from Atlanta's short term and long term perspective.

It was a reach on paper but every NFL team doesn't buy the same newspaper and read in-between the lines the same way.

Yep. Signing Cousins was a "win now" move
