So, let’s talk about Rams offseason strategy to bolster one Edge position…

Let’s start with what we know, or at least think we know.

Edge is Rams greatest roster need.

Yet Rams didn’t seriously pursue Edge FA opportunities despite the ‘need’ and having cap dollars available.

Rams are giving every indication that they think that they are in a SB window.

Rams have a track record under Snead/McVay of going after needed talent by any means necessary.

I think that we can all agree on the above. So, what to conclude?

The only thing that makes any sense is that Snead is comfortable with selecting his edge from this draft. May be at 19, may be with a small trade up. I dunno.

But he must be supremely confident with picking among several players that he feels will be there. A better long term solution that’s more inexpensive than any of the FA options ever were.

Now, it is also possible that he loves the value in some other player later in the draft on Day 2. A Young or Turner type steal/gem, perhaps? Wouldn’t that be something?

Can’t wait for Snead’s strategy to reveal itself.
