'Author' is merely guessing at how the team and players view Bennet. He knows no more than posters on this board. Of course the Rams aren't going to release a 4th round pick with upside who costs them next to nothing. There's no downside to letting him come in and compete for 3rd string. I imagine that if he blew the doors off training camp and pre-season they might trade or release Garrapalo. Or trade Bennet.

Bennet being on the roster tells us absolutely nothing.
