I wonder if AD coming back towards the end of the year would open up a bad can of worms.....

in the sense that players you have under contract (towards the end of them) retire, but with the ability to come back due to still being under the contract start laying out all year to just come back in time for playoff games or to secure spots. Kinda like being ringers....you have them in your back pocket to call on when/if wanted.

This isn't like Brady retiring and then un-retiring going to the bucs...or Vermeil retiring and coming back with the chiefs. This is a guy who is still under contract to the team he retired with and coming back if needed/wanted. It's not like Weddle either as he was retired but came back to play for the RAMS, not the team he retired with....he had a contract written at the time he came on board, not one in his pocket already.

Players could step down with a year or 2 left on their contract and come back when ever they chose, or were called on.....seems like it's kinda tricky, could be a tricky thing to do....A loop hole that would allow a team to get better right when they needed it most.
