One item that has popped into my head that hasn't really happened in the last couple of years with the Rams is that this year I think we will be playing from a lead for many of the games. If there is enough of a lead this usually means that the opposing team will be passing a lot. If the opposing team is passing a lot, and we know they are going to pass, it leads to many "pin back your ears and get after the QB" plays. Donald had the most sacks in 2018 when the offense was a juggernaut as an example. This is also when we went to the Super Bowl (and lost a defensive battle) and also only had 3 losses in the regular season.

I think that this thinking is and will continue to shape the Rams team building this year. It probably means a lot of new players on the defense, and it probably means many new players that can either get to the QB or cover receivers and/or TE's.
