Murphy probably is the best talent however what concerns me are
- whether or not he would have the same impact playing more snaps
- his motor (or lack thereof) in pursuit
- his recognition of screens
Texas rotates so much.. basically has line shifts that he's rarely in the game for more than 4 snaps in a row.
Sweat to me wasn't as relevant as one reason that helped Murphy. Against better teams, Sweat wasn't double teamed. Murphy was more double teamed. Not a big fan of Sweat. Looks good against poorer teams, not really against the big boys. Bama game against 350lb linemen, I don't recall Sweat making an impact. Murphy though was killing their 300 lb center (aka the small guy
)
Newton has a much bigger motor. Plays with reckless aggression. I'm not sure about his size though.
