IF they find upgrades at the edge and CB, I fully expect them to go offense at 19. Even if they didn’t fill those needs in freee agency I would expect them to go offense with their first pick. Without any first round picks at their disposal, the majority of the Rams first overall picks under Snead/McVay have been on offense. Taylor Rapp is the only defensive player that I can think of, without using Google, who the Rams have used a first pick on. So were I a gambler ignoring context and using only probability as a tool, I’d bet the farm on the Rams using their first pick on an offensive player. My guess is that they’d go with a wide receiver or a trade up for Bowers if that’s the case. If they lose both Shelton and Dotson which sounds very possible at this point, I could see them possibly trading back and going offensive line.
