This idea of doing the GB model is not what I think the Rams will do about QB.
If discussions indicate Stafford is looking to play for 3 years or so more, then it makes little sense to spend a 1st round pick on a QB.
In fact, it makes no sense to spend anything more than maybe a comp 3rd rounder, and even then that QB would have to be projected as immediate QB2 in order to get value for the pick.
It is my hope that the Rams see that they need to go with a vet backup QB2, and the most logical is Wentz. I just can't imagine that any team around the league looks at Wentz's one appearance this past year and thinks of him as their starter.
So, if some higher rated QB unexpectedly falls to the Rams at 19, I imagine there will be trade offers that Snead would highly consider rather than taking that QB.
The Rams need immediate starters at a couple of positions. They need an immediate starter at CB (2 spots really), Edge, and ILB2. They also have to be eying Center only because Shelton is a FA and he is an OK but average Center.
Bottom line: near zero chance the Rams would take a QB anywhere in the round 1... but you can never say never.
