I genuinely feel sorry for this young man.
Older generations learned to greet life's minor setbacks and disappointments with an attitude of
suck it up and deal with it. Life goes on.He's not the only one in his generation who suffers this malady; like them, he is so in touch with his feelings that he's lost touch with will and his brain. And that's a national tragedy.
Some among us on this board have rasised our sons differently, and the young men among us have shown more grit in facing loss. It's part of life. We don't collect participation trophies when we participate, win or lose.
I'm reminded of some lines from Rudyard Kipling's
If:
If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
