This may have been discussed but I missed it and am looking for clarification. So on the play Ref throws flag for what I assume would have been defensive PI (would have been terrible call imo) Aiuyk makes the miraculous catch ... refs huddle pick up flag.
So what was deal with that?

In real time I say oh yeah they pick it up now ... if he wouldn't have caught it they would have called PI left flag in place and niners end up with ball at same spot .... that's what I believe to be truth ...but my friends are calling me a conspiracy theorist and my hate for niners is clouding my judgement ...and in fact they would have still picked up flag ? So was explanation given on why it was picked up and what do you think happens to flag if ball was incomplete ?

I am not saying gambling was involved but...

I heard they threw the flag initially to help out the whiners but the catch meant they didn't have to have a flag on the play and were advised by Draft Kings to just pick up the flag!

This is the guy who said to pick up the flag...
