For all the tough talk from the coach about biting knee-caps, etc the lions kind of wilted under pressure. They got punched in the mouth in the second half and just folded. Tough talk is one thing - having a roster of players with mental toughness is another. That team could use some more veterans who know how to keep it together. I mean - who stepped up in the second half to stop the bleeding? Who was rallying guys on the sideline? Not saying it wasn't happening - I just didn't see it.
I kinda feel bad for Goff. He played the game he needed to to win. Didn't turn it over - made the throws he needed too. The team just fell apart around him. And maybe that's a knock on Goff - he's not going to get in anyone's face. You're not going to see emotion on the sideline, or arguments, or yelling between players. That kind of visual passion sometimes sparks something.
