Chiefs kept their dignity. Raiders didn't have any to begin with.
They'd deliverately bump opposing team players on change of possession, just because. All for show, showing how tough they were. Their best pass blocking strategy, taught by Madden, was for their OL to grab handfuls of jersey and fall over backward.
Their D consistently hit guys first after the whistle, and squaked when hit back - often drawing a flag. That kind of cheap sh#% typified the Raiders.
They courted a fan base that looked and acted like refugees from the garbage cans of hell.
My favorite AFL teams back in the pre-merger period and well after were the San Siego Chargers where Coryell and Fouts brought their revolutionary air attack into pro football, the Chiefs with Schram and Len Dawson running a versatile offense plus a stout defense, and Houston Oilers - Earl Campbell, Billy "White Shoes" Johnson, and Dan Pastorini.
Raider, in that company, were thugs and villians for the most part with Stabler to Branch, Biletnikoff, and Cannon as bright spots, and I loved watching Ray Guy do his thing. Incredible.
Schram = good.
Coryell = innovative nut job (listen to Fred Dryer's eulugy - priceless!)
Madden = infuriating - coaching's answer to Don Rickles crossed with Conrad Dobler.
