Sign a player who's contract ends at the end of this season from a non-playoff team? Before the playoffs start?

Or it has to be a player from the couch?

Because we need to bring in a free safety or a corner A..S..A..P!!!

Jets just released Dalvin Cook. Do we kick the tires on him as a backup to Kyren?
