I remember John Madden ruminating after Flipper ran through the tunnel about the Rams long journey to the NFC Championship game. He discussed how disappointed the Rams were after having the 49ers on the ropes in the second regular season game, only to let them off with two long, fluky TDs. He mentioned that John Robinson said to the team that if we win four more games, we'll see these guys again. Madden said, "and you think, well, that's not going to happen. And it HAS happened."
