Memories of 1984 bring up this question with TODAY'S Kickoff rules.

The 84 Giants game was mention when the Rookie Rams returner let the opening Kickoff go into the end zone without downing it. Giants fell on it for an easy TD...... TODAY....Kickers let the ball roll into the end zone and it's automatically called down. Is there a signal made by the Returner? (Which I don't see)

What is the line between an onside kick and one called down and brought to the 25??

In other words....Can what happen in 1984 not happen today??
