Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will be playing in his biggest game to date since Super Bowl LVI in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints. How the Rams and Stafford fare on Thursday Night Football will determine whether or not LA will suffer a playoff death sentence for the remainder of the regular season.

In what is easily a must-win game for the Rams, Matt has to prove he’s still one of the clutch QBs in the sport. No pressure right? Yet, Stafford has been on an ridiculous tear since LA’s bye week.

Before the Week 10 bye, the star had just eight touchdown passes to seven interceptions on the year. That’s why his red-hot stretch seemingly felt like it came out of nowhere. It was a welcome surprise nonetheless and the Rams are firmly in the playoff hunt because of his recent play.

Stafford has thrown multiple touchdowns in four straight games as Los Angeles has gone 3-1 in those outings. None of this bodes well for New Orleans as the veteran is perhaps the best signal caller the Saints have faced all season.

You can make an argument that likely Offensive Rookie of the Year C.J. Stroud was the best QB New Orleans has faced in 2023. However, Stroud struggled in the 20-13 win back in October, completing 48.1 percent of his passes for 199 yards, two touchdowns and his first career interception. Speaking of interceptions, I would like to point out that for as much crap as Stafford receives for his turnovers, he’s the king in regards to possessing the lowest turnover worthy play rate in the NFL.

Suck on that haters! Huge thank you to the analytic nerds for being able to back me up there. Nothing about this game should cause Rams fans to believe this will be an easy win. There is obviously no such thing as an easy win in the NFL. Although I can’t imagine the Saints will be able to slow down another aspect of Stafford’s play, his ability to move the chains on third and fourth down.

On Thursday night, the Saints are not facing Bryce Young or Tyson Bagent or Mac Jones. They’ll be facing Matthew FREAKING Stafford, who has already set forth on a wild revenge tour. Hide the children tonight because if Stafford is able to get going tonight, it’ll be a long flight back to the Bayou tomorrow morning for the Saints.
