IMO It could be a Solid Combination.

Davis Allen has some game and has shown the ability to catch the football, Long seems to be a solid blocker at the point of attack. So hopefully we get to see this on display. TE Coach Nick Caley likes Long, he got to see plenty of him when he was in New England as the TE Coach with Long playing at Boston College.
