When a team is completely stocked it can make the average look elite. Last night shows how well stocked the Bengals offense is, because their backup had a perfect game. Not to rag on Purdy but if he was Mr Irrelevant on say the Bears would he even beat out Fields? Sometimes if you are lucky you bring in a qb that is along for the ride at first but grows into something special by the time the accessories aren't as good. Brady and Russ weren't the Brady and Russ they grew into being at first but they were on rosters that were so stacked it required less of them and they grew so that by the time more was required, they were ready. Purdy looks perfect right now and his draft status helps the Niners maintain this elite top heavy squad but we will see how elite he looks by the time his contract is up or will Shanny try to keep the elite roster and just replace qb's with a particular skillset via the draft every 3 years? It is a roster development style that has been theorized but not attempted fully yet.
