Stafford's toughness vs Success Window

November 21, 2023 08:14AM
I know we laud Matthew for being so tough and that has never needed to be proven when we traded for him We were not lacking for QB toughness when we traded for him. Currently the Rams have a team that is scrappy! We can compete and could have been an evern better team even if we only held on to Leonard Floyd and that is just a random selection from the several key losses. We could have let go of Higbee and kept Floyd and we would be 2-3 games better We could have kept Matt Gay and been 2-3 games better.

Matt's window for success let alone his toughness is being wasted if we can't make a miracle run. He has a max of next year to capitalize imo and it may already be too late for him.

It is sad if we miss playoffs and if we can't challenge for a ring because he is showing signs of those years of prime and gritty play falling off. You need a lot to get the most out of him. I am so sad this team seems to need crisis to compete.

The opposite of Tanking is really competing but the complacency of our approach to 2023 is still a concern because it is jeopardizing our current season and that can impact any future outlook we were hoping for that conceivably included Matthew Stafford. Toughness is not the concern.
