But you skipped addressing how his game is going to transition into a NFL Pro QB, not surprising
As a USC fan myself, I can say that I've all of his games (save for those on that silly PAC-12 Network). I'll let Speed answer for himself with respect to how CW's college game might translate to the pros, but here are my thoughts:
Pros1) I think that Williams is a very accurate passer - particularly mid-range and deep.
2) His accuracy doesn't diminish when he's forced to go off-script (which, you know, happens often with SC's pathetic pass-pro).
3) He has a pretty good arm. Not elite, but can get the ball out to the far sideline.
4) Though not a running QB, he can definitely give you that option as well as maneuverability in the pocket.
5) He's tough. You remember last year's Pac-12 Championship Game, right? USC had Utah on the run heading into halftime when CW popped his hammy. Thereafter, he couldn't run and you know USC's O-line wasn't going to block anything. EVERYONE knew he'd be a sitting duck and, predictably, he got broke-up. But he never complained and never checked to run plays as USC, predictably, fell behind with its porous defense.
6) He makes plays when he has no business making them.
Cons1) As has been mentioned by some others, I believe that his ability to escape the rush MOST of the time has led him to believe that he can escape it ALL of the time.
This has led him to make some
poor decisions...like the one he made late in the 4th quarter yesterday against U-dub. U-dub dialed up the right coverage and instead of throwing the ball away, Williams attempted to buy time by escaping the rush. He couldn't, took a bad sack, and took the Trojans out of game-tying FG range.
USC wasn't going to stop Huskies regardless, but those types of decisions made repeatedly will get your coach fired.
2) I think that he, sometimes, feels as though every play has to be a "big play" and I'm not so sure about that.
3) Doesn't have prototypical size that you'd want to have in today's NFL.
