The transition from Robert Saleh to DeMeco Ryans was seamless, however, from Ryans to Steve Wilks has not gone so well. Wilks came from outside the organization and was not successful as a Head Coach so maybe the lack of buy in, but regardless, I can only hope the defense keeps underperforming
There's a story in the Athletic pointing that exact thing out. Ryans and Saleh were LB coaches and Wilks has a DB background. Not sure exactly how that translates, but that isn't the SF defense we've seen under Ryans and Saleh.
