Those who understand this offense know that Stafford is anticipating windows and on the interception, he was flushed and his vision was blocked to see the linebacker streaking into the zone. It doesn't necessarily excuse him, but hopefully it demonstrates how some of these INT's are inevitable.
I'm more concerned with the lack of connection between Kupp and Stafford, particularly on option routes. It's obvious that D Coordinators have a job in learning and anticipating certain routes and find opportunities to jump them. This is an adjustment period for those two.
I'm also concerned with the number and type of drops by Kupp, Nacua, and Higbee. As a team, it's something we haven't seen at this level in years. I believe it will normalize and hope I'm not talking about it again late in the season.
Stafford is having an amazing year. This team is performing better than I expected but at times we are all perplexed. Even our penalties seem to be up this year. With so much youth, it's to be expected, but still...
If this team stays relatively healthy, despite this loss, I still expect to see our Rams in the playoffs. I'm personally not discouraged yet.
