At the time the dropped Int. happened it was a pisser... (putting it mildly)... but pretty much quickly forgotten as there was a lot of game to go.
Of all the great Ram teams in the 70's that '79 team I thought least likely to make the SB.... I was surprised they made it... very pleasantly surprised!
My brother-in-law, a Viking fan, and I were at the game.... we drove home after the game... about 4.5 hour drive. You would think I would have been very depressed... but actually, not as much as you'd think... I was proud... because the Ram's effort that SB was simply outstanding IMHO. I was proud of them, bursting with pride actually.
As that SB fades into history I've noticed many 'read' the score and don't have a clue how close that game actually was. (not talking about us on the board, we know it WELL).
When I look back today yeah... that dropped Int hurts..... badly! But having been to the game, having witnessed the outstanding effort the Rams put on that day... I don't have PTSD... the pride I felt that day still dominants my memories. - JamesJM
