Field Goals amaze me these days.

As I watch the Jags / Colts, I have seen a few kicks and it always amazes me the power of the ball coming off the ground. When I was in High School, I used to kick with just a sock (Sorta copying Lansford). I could hit from 45 rather easily but 48 was my record. BUT....That was off paper concession cups. I could not kick off the ground to save my life. MAYBE straight on from 15-20 yards. Even the NFL........Remember the 70s and early 80s when anything 40+ was a BIG thing??? THESE DAYS, Kickers are slammed if they cannot hit from 50! Watch them these days in pregame and they can go from 70!
