Sean uncharacteristically brought up Puka's drop three times and said he was "pissed" about the missed block when Havs went out. He was clear that he felt this team had the ability to win the game but there are things they do well and just didn't in spots.
In 17, the success was unexpected and refreshing so Sean was generally positive after a loss. Come 19, his intensity increased and the fall was precipitous. In 20, he just seemed depressed and frustrated. In 21, he knew what he had and the goals were clear. Last year was survival mode and little more.
What's different here is that he has a clear-eyed expectation of how they are developing this team. He knows he has the right kind of players but won't allow youth to be an excuse. He's at heart a teacher and you better know your damned assignment. I appreciate this type of emotion from him. I'm certain the staff hears it all the time but it's fun when Sean lets us peek behind the curtain.
