for no thread dedicated to Rivers. For those of you who aren't aware Rivers played for Fresno St., 21Dog and My alma mater... yes, we're homers.

I think something extremely important about River's contribution is being overlooked, for the most part.... and that is McVay's confidence in him. The focus is mostly on his size, (which i think is a bit out of whack, if understandable) so it goes pretty much without notice that at a critical juncture of that game yesterday McVay (or perhaps LaFleur) put Rivers in AND called his #. That's no small thing. And I do not think 'no choice' is applicable here.
