His run blocking is always solid
Yeah, he (along with the entire OL) was solid against the 49'ers. Bosa usually schools him, but he kept him relatively quiet.
I think that a lot of that had to do with the play-calling. Although experiencing less than stellar results, McVay stayed relatively balanced with his run/pass mix in the 1st half which kept the 9'ers from pinning their ears back. 9'er defenders also had to "think" for a split second in order to navigate all the motion the Rams were doing in the run and pass game. I'm sure that his helped out the OL which isn't prepared to go "big man on big man" at this point.
The offense that I've seen in the first couple of games reminds me more and more of what we saw in 2018.
