I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO stoked when the Rams picked him up. Was VERY VERY surprised he was not drafted. He was HUGE for Steve Spurrier in his first year Coaching UF, 1990. Kirkpatrick was Shane Matthews go to guy on clutch plays. And he made LOTS of them. He VERY MUCH reminded me of Pete Holohan. He wasn't going to take one 80 yards. But if you needed a clutch catch and an occasional 30 -40 yarder up the seam, he was great. He was in Rams Camp 1991 hardly 2 weeks when he blew a knee. He was done with football. I bet anything he would have extended Everett's time as a Ram.
