Hope he gets a lot of preseason work. But as of now I think they'd be better off with Long and Allen behind Higbee and saving the $1M in cap space.
He showed up big- thankfully- in the Super Bowl with those 4 catches. The rest of his career? 8 catches in 26 games. Rarely does the light come on in year 4 for someone.
A lot of us share your skepticism, 93, and with good reason.
Hopkins has been a tease since he got here and this season is his last chance to win coaches and fans over.
I will say this. Our TE corps has a new coach in Nick Caley and a new emphasis on focusing on TE’s as weapons (I think). Last year’s TE coaching was abysmal because Brown seemed in so far over his head.
So, we might just be pleasantly surprised there this year.
