I'm sure that the exhibition games give scouts an opportunity to see what other teams may have that they can't roster.
Guys who were marginal "No, I'll pass" this week, become a possible answer as a "Yeah, why not?" for ineptitude. or lack of study by these youngsters.
I wouldn't claim shock if sooner than later the "churning" of the roster starts up.
I do enjoy that Coach is expressing his dissatisfaction.
Too often, the question is, "Who stood out to you?" by the press.

A very large chunk of these players won't make the roster. If they can't provide a solid challenge to the guy they line up across from then they aren't a value at all.
Again, like that the HC is signaling that the their lack of focus is intolerable.
