Re: TV will only support it for a while

I tried to find actual game attendance numbers at USFL games but the USFL doesn't release that information. All you had to do was watch a few USFL games and you could see for yourself that attendance was pretty sparse. I'm guessing maybe 5,000-6,000 people in the stadium on average. The USFL may have more tv viewers than the XFL but they definitely have a lot fewer butts in seats. It's hard to support a team that doesn't even play in the city it represents.

Of the 8 XFL teams, 3 teams are in cities that don't have an NFL team (St. Louis, Orlando, and San Antonio).. The top attendance for the XFL was St Louis which averaged over 36,000 per game. Coming in 2nd was San Antonio which averaged a little over 16,000 per game.

Of the 8 USFL teams, 2 teams represent a city with no NFL team (Birmingham and New Jersey). Since all the games are played in a 4-city hub, the attendance numbers are meaningless for the cities the teams represent (Birmingham, Memphis, Detroit, and Canton)

Also, I didn't know until today that the USFL is owned by Fox Sports.
