However it shakes out, the Rams next secondary STAR will have big shoes to fill.

Durant most of the time. But probably not the only one. It's never been just one guy--
Here is an example of him--
Rams show the Cover-2/4 in nickel and Rotate to Cover-3 Buzz

Durant is the "Star" and Rapp is the "Money ($)" in this package. Wagner the Mike---E. Jones is out.

these are the routes from tight bunch. The #2 receiver, the point on the bunch goes outside
so he "becomes" the new #1, the #1 receiver in the formation goes inside and is the new #2
the secondary has to read this so they know who to pick up

here is the rotation for 3-buzz, buzz means the outside linebackers take the flats
as opposed to a corner or safety.

So, -the personnel is dime and one guy is Star and one is $---how are LBers
taking the flats. Well, the star is replacing one LBer and the $ replaces another
so look at original alignment - it's just a 4-3 but guys are playing spots, Wagner is the
MLB by name but here he is the WILL, the weakside outside LBer, Rapp, a safety by name
is the MIKE and the Star is a corner Durant but he's a SAM or strong outside linebacker
in reality - he is on the three-receiver side, where the TE is.

so what happens is they rotate, Ramsey takes the guy who came through his zone
that becomes his man...plays trail technique---Durant in the far flat reads the QB
and knows there is no threat to the flat and drops to trap Ramsey's guy - the #1
from the near side, Wilson overthrows and Durant--smartly is in right place
and makes a play on the ball.

It's a star by by the Star position.
