I think us getting the first pick requires insane amounts of injuries once again. Which statistically seems unlikely given last season. So yes it is possible because injuries happen and we have weaker depth at most positions this season so each injury will be felt strongly. But I doubt it happens.
This team is more likely to make the playoffs than get the first pick. And making the playoffs is unlikely but possible. So I'd put the chances of the writer being correct around single digit percentages and low ones at that.
