Last year in a few clips, at home on the couch on draft day and then a few in camp, Bruss looked - hate to say it -
pudgy - to me.
Fat where there should be muscle. Needed more strength. Needed a year of solid workouts to turn the pudge into muscle, maybe add ten pounds of muscle beyond that. What worked physically for him in college would not work in the pros. Without more strength against stronger, faster men he continues to get knocked on his arse or beat on plays he should contain.
I hope he's been working hard and studying the playbook, doing mental reps where he can't do physical ones. His decline last year was disillusioning and I hope he turns it around. He was counted on for more than he was able to produce in the short time he was active.
