This is the first pick we've taken where we know exactly where the guy will fit in. We took a huge OL. Don't know if he's a game 1 starter or if he is where he plays, LG, C, RG. Probably LG, but it's still a guess. Then, we took an edge rusher. Will he be on the left side or tight? Does he start right away or come in on obvious pass downs? Then we took a DT. Could play any DL position. Where exactly? Dunno. Will he start or rotate in? Dunno. Stetson? Back up QB. We know that.
Snead mentioned some of the thought process behind the 2nd round larger OG was the Saints offense when Brees was there. Brees being shorter and not a run threat, the Saints invested in interior line vs tackles. Who knows long term if any of these guys work, but I think they are drafting guys that are competitive and really love football. Bennett played in big games against SEC competition week after week and performed. IMO if you are going to draft a developmental 4th round QB, why not go with a 2x national champion ?
